Shree Daneshwari Seva Sansthe (SDSS) initiated the PHC center in 2010, consistently providing quality health services to the community. Encompassing 26 villages with an approximate population of 25,367, the PHC, managed by Shree Daneshwari Seva Sansthe, operates six sub-centers in Khanapur Taluka. Services, including diagnosis, treatments, and drugs, are provided free of cost, adhering to government policies. The PHC, under the auspices of Shree Daneshwari Seva Sansthe, also handles Medico-legal cases as per guidelines, positively impacting women, children, and the elderly in need of medical services.
The local PHC setup, facilitated by Shree Daneshwari Seva Sansthe, receives widespread appreciation for its accessible and affordable services, thanks to dedicated technical staff. The success of the PHC, managed by Shree Daneshwari Seva Sansthe, has garnered support from THO, DHO, and other health institutions. Notable achievements include a shift from high-risk home deliveries to approximately 700 institutional deliveries in the last five years. Additionally, 3108 eye surgeries were performed, successful immunization campaigns were conducted, and efforts were made to reduce infant and maternal mortality rates.
Emphasizing the importance of achieving MDG goals, the PHC, under the umbrella of Shree Daneshwari Seva Sansthe, actively promotes critical awareness among the 26 villages in Kakkeri PHC jurisdiction. Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activities, along with community participation, play a key role in spreading health-related messages through methods such as pamphlets and handouts.
Staff at the PHC, employed by Shree Daneshwari Seva Sansthe, focuses on preventive, primitive, and curative aspects of healthcare. Services include educating the community about prevailing health problems, maternal and child healthcare, family planning, immunization against infectious diseases, and the prevention and control of locally endemic diseases. Essential drugs are provided free of cost. PHCs, managed by Shree Daneshwari Seva Sansthe, contribute to preventive services, curative services, environmental sanitation, health education, family welfare services, and the recording of health statistics for various National Health Programs.
